With the removal of Section 127, Aboriginal people would be included in the national census, which meant they would have the alike citizen rights as other Australians. It would also change the Constitution, which would mean that the Commonwealth, as well as the States, had the rights to make laws on Aboriginal issues. These are known as concurrent rights.
The section 127 clearly indicated: In reckoning the numbers of the people of the Commonwealth, or of a State or other part of the Commonwealth, aboriginal natives shall not be counted. whereas section 51 stated:
