4. The New Right say that:

Bauer advocates a wider range of functions for governments:
(i) The basic provision for health and education.
(ii) The vigilance of the monetary and fiscal (taxation/spending) system.
7. Friedman and Bauer argue that:
(i) The production, distribution and trade of goods and function are best left to private (profit making) rather than public (government owned and regulated) organizations.
(ii)The free market will regulate itself and lede to increased economic growth e.g. as in Hong Kong.
(iii)Government exchange planning fails to raise living standards.
