The article that I feel chosen to write more or less is about Debbie Stevens who donated her kidney to her boss, which shortly after resulted in her being fired from her job. In my essay I will be discussing how Miss Stevens could go toward two diametric paths of actions within her situation. I will be using the Utilitarianism and good Egoism theories to justify her actions.
Debbie Stevens a 47 year hoary divorced mother of two from Long Island, New York had tardily filed a formal complaint with the New York State mankind Rights Commission stating that her boss 61 year old Jackie Brucia a West Islip controller for Atlantic self-propelled Group had exclusively hired her in order to gain access to her kidney, erstwhile done she was fired. Stevens had worked for the multi billion-dollar dealership company before as an associate in 2009 however she left the company in June 2010 and distinguishable to move to Florida. It was during a trip to the dealership Brucia had told Stevens that she was in take up of a kidney transplant. According to the complaint Brucia had already informed Stevens that she had a friend who could possibly donate a kidney to her. She said she had a possible donor, a friend or something, Stevens said.
But I told her if anything happened that Id be willing to donate my kidney. She kind of jokingly replied, You neer know, I may have to take you up on that one day. After a few months Stevens moved vertebral column to Long Island and asked Brucia if she were able to get her position back with the Automotive dealership Brucia hired her back within weeks. It wasnt besides long after that in January 2011 when Bruica had approached Stevens and asked if she was still serious about donating her kidney. I said, Yeah, sure. This isnt a joking matter, Stevens said. I did not do it for job security. I didnt do it to get a raise.
