Just thirteen old age ago we celebrated the eleventh anniversary of 9/11 attacks of the United States. To call it a celebration is a topographic point of an overstatement. It is more like a remembrance of the fallen heroes and good deal that died during these attacks. Since these attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon on September 11, 2001 occurred, American society has changed significantly. National security has demanded a close-hauled guard on immaterial and domestic threats by placing promote investigation and laws that many say weaken the rights to privacy we Americans soak up for granted. The price that Americans pay for this extra security is the loss of our gracious rights. What worries so many of us is that all law enforcement agencies no longer need probable cause to search our records and properties if on that point is a fear of a terroristic threat to our national security. Also, as newer technology is developed it becomes easier for law enforcement to execute what we believe to be an invasion of our privacy, create a catalog and/or take on our behaviors and patterns. Privacy, Many more politically conservative citizens complain approximately loss of privacy, citing Amendment IX of the U.S. Constitution prohibiting unreasonable searches and seizures (Bondigas). Because of the 9/11 attacks, the United States has focused on preventing foreign and domestic threats by instituting laws that allow law enforcement agencies the ability to perform surveillance and policing duties with particular or no regards to the civil liberties they swore to uphold and protect. Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart submarine would argue the lax in surveillance and policing laws that dilute our rights to privacy is necessary for the protection of our national security from domestic and foreign threats.
